I'm Cory Gurman, and I share stories about conservation, community, and the places where the two meet.
From Florida swamps to a 13,000-acre backyard in the mountains — the outdoors has shaped everything I write.
I grew up in Florida, spending most of my time outside — fishing, exploring, and getting into whatever the woods had to offer. That early connection stuck with me, and over time it turned into a full-blown obsession with hunting, conservation, and getting others involved.
College took me to The University of the South, where 13,000 acres of forest sat right in my backyard. I spent most of my free time in the woods, started a shooting sports club, and started thinking seriously about how to make the outdoors more welcoming — especially for people who didn't grow up in it like I did.
Now I write about all of it: hunting, cooking, sustainability, conservation, and community. I love telling stories that make the outdoors feel more accessible, and connecting with others trying to do the same.
